Sandy's 2014 season starts well - PFi

Difficult conditions greeted all the competitors for the early morning qualifying session at PFI, with a drying track, a time of 1:08.99 put Sandy on P9 for the pre-final.



A good start on a now dry track enabled Sandy to move into 5th place on the opening lap and then continued to work his way up with an excellent drive to finish in a well deserved 2nd place. This gave a grid slot of 2 for the final, a poor start resulted in Sandy dropping back into 5th on the 1st lap and after a few tussles dropped back even further to 12th, but a good fight back saw Sandy quickly move back up through the pack to eventually finish 5th overall setting the fastest lap of the final on the way with a time of 59.77 This was a very strong start to the 2014 season for Sandy.
