Good win in Junior Max for Sandy at Buckmore

(11/05/2014 - Buckmore Park) Sandy had a fantastic weekend racing in junior Max at Buckmore Park in Kent.
The format for the Sunday was qualifying followed by a heat , pre-final and final and it was to be standing starts after trialling them during testing on Saturday.
 
Qualifying was extremely close with Sandy setting the fastest lap time of 39.62 seconds to take pole position.
Just before the heat was to get on the way there was a quick shower of rain resulting in a frantic change by the majority of the grid onto the wet tyres only for the rain to stop as quickly as it had started and the tracked dried almost immediately. Two of the karts that had opted for slicks quickly past Sandy to pull out a big lead but after falling to 4th Sandy battled back to finish third with his wets looking slightly worn!
 
A fine drive in a close contested pre-final from P3 on the grid, saw Sandy take the chequered flag for the win.
The final was an excellent race with the top three karts changing positions numerous times before Sandy took the lead on the second last lap allowing him to go on to take the win setting the fastest lap on the way.
