Duerr's sponsors GT3 driver Sandy Mitchell

May 3, 2018

Duerr’s, the UK’s oldest family-owned producer of jams, marmalades and peanut butter, is to sponsor one of the rising stars of UK motorsport.

Scottish GT3 racer Sandy Mitchell, 18, has already achieved success on the track - a multiple Scottish and British karting champion and the youngest ever Scottish single-seater race winner.

His front-running pace caught the attention of Manchester-based Duerr’s and the company grabbed the opportunity to sponsor Sandy in five Blancpain GT Endurance rounds.

Duerr’s has a long history of backing racing drivers on the way up in the sport, having previously backed Jordan King who is now racing in IndyCar in the USA, rally drivers Mark Higgins and Natalie Barrett and former Formula Palmer Audi racer Darren Turner, who is now an official driver for Aston Martin. Now Sandy is the latest to race with the famous Duerr’s logo on his car.

Richard Duerr, Sales Director of F. Duerr & Sons, says: “We love motorsport at Duerr’s and are in the fortunate position to be able to support young drivers as they progress in the sport.

“To have a driver with the natural ability and exciting style of Sandy is so exciting for us and we will be cheering him all the way in this year’s GT3.”

Sandy will be racing in a 2018 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 for the season, and Duerr’s logo will feature not only on the car, but also on Sandy’s race suit and helmet.
